Role of the GATE Parent Site Liaison
The GATE Parent Site Liaison plays an integral role in the GATE program.
As GATE Parent Site Liaison they are a parent representative of the school and
member of the GATE Parents Group Board of Directors providing input to the Board
in helping to frame the GATE Parents Group activities.
The following list highlights the responsibilities of the GATE Parent Site
Liaison
- Liaison to school GATE on-site coordinator.
- Arrange room reservations at your high school (once a year) for the GATE
Board meetings. Guidelines are available to assist you in making theses arrangements.
- Participate in GATE Parents Group Steering Committee monthly meetings.
- Establish communication with students (GATE and non-GATE) and parents at
school site (i.e. PTO meetings and PTO communications).
Optional
- Assist, as needed, in scheduling GATE activities (posters, newsletters,
banners, etc.) at your school.
- Create and implement on campus or off campus activities and supplement onsite
coordinator with activities (i.e. help at school when there are on site activities).
- Interact with Principal, VP, Counselors and Career Center if needed.
