Summer Enrichment: Introduction to Forensic Science- Description
- We will look at how some historical cases were solved using science and math (in-line with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)). Students may also discuss the hands-on practices of examining, processing and documenting crime scenes with various evidence such as DNA, blood spatter, trace evidence, fingerprints, skeletal remains, ballistics, etc.
Potential topics to be explored include forensic analysis of 9/11, forensic analysis of JFK (latest theories), search for the disappeared (“Dirty War” in Argentina), and familial DNA surveillance & phenotyping (new techniques used in the field).
Class includes lunch period; please bring your own lunch. Registration includes cost of all lab supplies.
