Summer Enrichment: Introduction to Python Programming- Description
- This course is designed to teach you the fundamentals of problem solving and algorithm development. This course will be taught using the Python programming language. Python is a good language for new programmers and helps set the foundation for future language development.
You will learn the main principles of algorithm design and programming: variables, arrays, lists, objects, conditional and iterative control structures, and Boolean logic. This is a fast paced introductory course meant to expose you to the basic tools of programming in Python. You will use these tools to program a variety of projects and assignments. Most of the work will be done in class, but you may be expected to finish up some coding at home. Learning computer science is very different from many other subjects; it requires a fair amount of grit. There is a lot of trial-and-error, and you have to learn to be patient, persistent, inquisitive, and most importantly, be willing to put forth your best effort.
Class does not have a lunch period.
