Summer Enrichment: Mock Trial Workshop- Description
- In this week-long workshop, students will spend four days preparing a mock trial court case and on the fifth day perform the case. Participants who have not been on a mock trial team will learn the structure of a trial, rules of evidence, how to compose opening and closing statements, direct and cross examinations. Those who already have mock trial experience will receive training in advanced skills that they can use to improve their performance in next year's competition. All students will have an opportunity to improve their thinking, public speaking, and collaboration skills.
Mr. Jouriles founded the Hillsdale mock trial team and coached there for many years. He now coordinates the San Mateo County mock trial competition.
Note: Class does not have a lunch period.
